  1. My interest is more in U.S. Infantry weapons. I'm working my way back in time. Next on my list is the M-1 Garand.

  2. One reason the Chauchat is a 'forgotten weapon'....is that it was a mechanically horrible firearm.

    1. "mechanically horrible firearm"
This is why it's a popular firearm?

  3. I like all history concerning firearms. Interesting article Mike. I didn't know you were pro history gun at all. I love this kind of stuff. Thank you.

Oh, he's not. That's why he labeled it "gun fetish". I wouldn't be surprised if he considered the "biased reporting" label as well.

    2. TS, sshhhh. He might have a gun fetish himself. Just dont make him aware of it.

Of course if you really think about it he has a HUGE gun fetish. Otherwise this blog wouldn't exist.

    3. Well, TS, I suppose if they'd said "everyone loves the Chauchat" I would have used that tag.

  5. Pretty interesting. I had of course heard about what an irredeemably awful piece of shit the Chauchat supposedly was, and never thought to question that conventional "wisdom."

Just goes to show, one more time, that it's risky to assume an assertion is true, without insisting on seeing the evidence supporting said assertion.
