Michigan Concealed Carry Permits Called into Question

  1. So for some reason, the instructor in question was suspended by the NRA for what appears to be poor quality training AND the NRA informed officials that processed permits of the suspension. Sounds like they are contentiously striving to provide a quality product. Kudos to them.

    1. I don't think you can say that. Isn't it really easy to become an NRA instructor?

  2. This is out of more than 400,000 licenses. Do you have a point?

    1. First of all, is it really 400,000? Secondly, this is a fairly wide-spread problem according to the video. Inadequate training is the last thing we need for CCW guys. But of course requiring ANY training is an infringement of their rights, eh Greg?

    2. Yes, it is more than 400,000, and while requirements are an infringement, there are more important things to deal with first.

    3. What's that supposed to mean? Some requirements are infringements worth complaining about and others are not?

    4. Mikeb, the current shall-issue system in most states works well. Constitutional carry is the goal, but we should free the slave states and get national reciprocity of licenses first.

    5. I thought you were gonna stop referring to them as slave states.

    6. Bigots cannot help referring to "slave" states.

    7. You're right, foolish of me to expect you to clean up something despicable and stupid just because it was pointed out to you.

    8. When states violate the rights of residents, what else should we call it?

    9. What right is being violated? The 2nd amend. does not cover a right to concealed carry.

    10. "The 2nd amend. does not cover a right to concealed carry. "

Perhaps you should read up on Moore vs. Madigan. That was exactly the argument that resulted in the state of Illinois being ordered by the court to implement a carry permit system where before there had been none.

    11. That comes under any item not listed is left to the States to determine. If it was specifically listed in the 2nd amend. it would be legal to carry in all States, it is not.
