More on the Hialeah Mass Shooter - Pedro Vargas

WSVN-TV -

You know what the pro-gun folks aren't talking about? They're not talking about how this lawful gun owner with a concealed carry permit did a mass shooting in a place that WAS NOT a gun free zone.

  1. I don't recall anyone saying that's where it has to happen. The only point about a gun-free zone is that it takes away the choice of the good guys.

    1. Oh, you don't recall? How about those who said mass shootings ALWAYS happen in gun free zones? Does that ring a bell?

    2. I don't doubt that someone has said that, but I don't say that, and many here don't say that.

    3. You've got a short and convenient memory.

    4. Nobody has said they always happen there, or that they have to happen there. They've, instead, noted that they usually happen in such zones with occasional exceptions like this and the Giffords shooting.

    5. Mikeb, in the many contests of memory that we've had, who's won?

    6. In this case, Greg, I'm afraid I have to insist. The best you can do is claim you yourself never said it. I'm not gonna look. But, it was all over the internet, the pro-gun maniacs were repeating it like crazy. Of course, you and Tennessean don't remember any of that.

    7. Mikeb, you want me to find me not claiming causation? That's cute. I don't claim causation. Causation is possible, but not proven. I have claimed repeatedly that what we can conclude is that the gun control narrative is shown to be wrong.

Now if you doubt this, show me to be wrong.

  2. Mike,

How exactly did his carry permit enable Vargas to carry out his crime? No one has ever suggested that permit holders are saints, any more than police officers are. They're just much more law abiding as a whole than the general population, again, much like police officers.

    1. It's funny, but I've looked all over my two carry licenses and through page after page of state websites and instruction sites, and none of them tells me that having a license allows me to commit murder. In fact, several specifically state that a license doesn't allow me to break the law and will be revoked if I do.

    2. "No one has ever suggested that permit holders are saints" But isn't that exactly what you guys continually do?

    3. What we have said repeatedly is that carry license holders commit crimes at a lower rate than the general population.

    4. And what we've said repeatedly is that's based on faulty data. But since it sounds so good, you keep pushing it.

The reason that makes no sense is the requirements to get a carry license are so lax that almost anybody can get one. How would that make for a safer and more responsible group?

    5. Gee, I dunno...maybe because the only ones who are going to bother with asking permission to carry are the ones who already care whether things are legal or illegal.

You know, kinda like how ex-convicts who have already shown a disregard for the law tend to commit more crimes than the general population.

    6. Mikeb, I know that you doubt the background checks for carry licenses, but those are the same checks we run on teachers. The rules for getting a license are far from lax.

  3. Ted Nugent (Greg) is on lying sick guy

    1. Prove that I've lied, or you yourself are a liar. But then, since you have been repeatedly told that I'm not Ted Nugent, we already know what you are.

    2. Kevin, you're about the most pitiful kind of troll I've seen, following one guy around and insulting him on someone else's blog. I didn't think a troll could fall farther than E.N. had, but I was wrong. It's sad really.

    3. Here's Jadegold again, calling out, "Me love you long time. Five dollah, five dollah!"

    4. Ted Nugent (Greg) I already proved that you lied, sorry sac

    5. Kevin,
How sweet, but I don't swing that way.

      Jade,
      Off the stage. No Dollar.

    6. Kevin,

Wouldn't a man of Nugent's stature and perversions have preoccupations which would prevent his appearance on this blog? Wouldn't a degenerate of such wealthy means have better things to do?

It has been the lingering suspicion of many who frequent this site that "Greg" is in fact, a habitual serial troll who proliferates a wide range of aliases which spout many bizarre and often contradictory rantings. It appears that "Greg" has often argued with these aliases under his usual alias, "Greg Camp", or has otherwise engaged in a dialogue with himself through other sockpuppets conversing among themselves. He has even gone a far as to claim that these sockpuppets belong to Jadegold, which begs the question of whether "Jadegold" and "Greg Camp" are one in the same.

The truth is obvious. Go and seek it for yourself.

    7. Oops! Sorry for wrecking the tranquility here guys. Speak of the devil and he appears!

Though this is a new trick for E.N.--lie, claiming that Greg has been accused of proliferating sock puppets, and thereby try to foist some of his multiple personalities upon someone else--and all while using one of his own sock puppets.

Wheels within wheels that one. Admit nothing, deny everything, make counter accusations.

    8. Jadegold, keep this crap up, and I'm posting IP numbers and locations on my blog. Got it?

Kevin, now you lie by claiming that you proved that I lied. Proof is so hard for you to provide, I see.

    9. Proof is in the preceding comments and preceding posts. You guys obviously have a history, I'm new here and can only judge by what Ted Nugent (Greg) writes and how he treats others. My original comment about that stands and nothing said has changed that. As Ted Nugent (Greg) ignored what I said and pushed his insults, that only proved what I said. It's easy to judge when an idiot ignores the facts I mentioned and simply resorts to insults. So keep defending that kind of crap and I'll keep calling him Ted Nugent, a moniker well deserved by the idiot.

    10. It's so easy to call someone a liar when you don't have to back up your words with proof.

    11. A liar is a man who, whether true or not, is disbelieved, and is therefore branded with the ignominy of being a liar.

If such a liar, however, is believed, then the lie therefore blossoms into reality, and the liar has ascended to the ranks of the deceiver.

It is for the peers to decide whether to believe (and for the statement to manifest into reality) or not.

      Delete
    12. A statement is true if it corresponds to reality. It is false if it does not correspond. A person who makes a false statement unawares is in error. A person who intentionally makes a false statement is a liar.

Let's stay with logic, shall we?

    13. The proof in in print on this blog, so disprove what I proved.

  4. You don't need a license to commit murder, all you have to do is,,,,, just do it. So a license didn't enable him to do anything. If he had that frame of mind, even without a license, he still would have committed the crime. The license in and of itself is irrelevant at this point.

A license to carry allows you to carry in most places, does not allow you to abuse it or the laws.
A drivers license allows you to drive a car in most places, dose not allow you to abuse it or the laws.
