Maine Police Chiefs Oppose Constitutional Carry

  1. Nearby Vermont has constitutional carry and has lower levels of gun violence than Maine. But the democratic process will determine what will happen.

  2. Do you remember the difference between chiefs of police and sheriffs? Chiefs are political appointees, while sheriffs are elected by voters.

  3. These guys' opinion matter?

Then what about the Sheriffs and Chiefs of police in NY and CO who have opposed the new gun control laws in those states?

  4. Just watched the video once it loaded. I did not know that Maine allowed permitless open carry like AZ did for years before adopting constitutional carry.

Since this is the case, I can't see what mischief would be done by allowing permitless concealed carry. The guy whose protection order just expired is no longer a prohibited person, so he can still carry openly--how is it going to hurt society for him to cover the weapon with his jacket?

Those who are denied permits because they are prohibited persons are violating the law by owning guns in the first place, and they still would be if they were carrying under constitutional carry, just as they are now if they openly carry, or even own the gun but don't carry it.

    1. This is the magical thinking of the control freaks: If we make just one more thing illegal, we'll have a paradise.
