Three Nevada Teens Playing with Guns - One Dies - No Charges

Local news reports

Officers from the Winnemucca Police Department and Humboldt General Hospital Emergency Medical Service were dispatched to a McCoy St. residence on Saturday (February 23) around 7:30 pm,  for a report of an accidental shooting.

First responders found a 15 year old teenage boy with a single gunshot wound to the right hip/abdominal area. The young man was transported to HjGH for medical treatment. He was rushed into surgery in critical condition before being transported by Care Flight to Renown Hospital in Reno. The young man died en route.

Preliminary information on scene established three teenage boys had been handling fire arms when one of the firearms was accidentally discharged striking the teenage victim at a short distance.

This investigation is still ongoing.
Yeah, an investigation in gun-friendly Nevada, that's sure to turn up a guilty party. Here's a bit of irony.  The fanatics for gun-rights often accuse us of blaming the gun.  But, in reality they are the ones who do that when it's convenient.  In this case, "one of the firearms accidentally discharged." And you can bet no human person will be held accountable.

  1. You do realize that journalists aren't typically gun-rights advocates? The media have to be careful in how things are phrased, thanks to lawyers

  2. Actually, Mike, you misquoted your source. Now, it's possible that when the journalist wrote "one of the firearms was accidentally discharged" he really meant what you quoted, "one of the firearms accidentally discharged", but at this point we don't really know.

    1. "the firearms was accidentally discharged"

That's a quote from one of the liberal media sources, you know the ones that are so biased against you.

    2. Did you even read my comment? Reporters have to be careful about how they phrase things.

    3. Precisely. The original wording suggests someone pulled the trigger, which is almost certainly the case. Your misquote suggests otherwise. Of course, its possible you were making a point with your wording. If so, I have to admit I missed it.

And yes it was someones fault. The gun owner. They are fault. Thats it. NO ONE ELSE!! Leave this matter be. My sons gone. I have NO more yrs with him. His family has 1 less child to buy Christmas Easter or birthday presents to buy for. We have been through alot & have mors to go.
