Worst Cities for Gun Violence

Business Insider has produced some interesting charts.

That must means Las Vegas is heavy on the gun suicides. I suppose that makes sense. But, what doesn't make sense is the continual citing of Chicago by the gun-rights extremists as a failure of gun control while ignoring New Orleans.

  1. So why is Chicago not there you can't claim the gun violence is low? Post that one so we can compare.

    1. I suppose Chicago is not in the top 5 of either map.

  2. And of the top five cities for gun homicide, three of them--Newark, Baltimore, and Oakland--are in control freak states.

Regarding New Orleans, it would be interesting to look at the effect that Katrina has had on that city's rate of homicide and other crime. It's always been a wild city, but that storm exposed a number of fundamental problems that go far beyond the mere presence of guns.

    1. That means two of them are in gun friendly states, including the number one which is double and triple the others.

    2. Two are in good states, while three are in gun control paradises. Detroit and New Orleans have long histories of crime problems. Gun laws, whether favoring freedom or state control, have done nothing to change that. You ignored my points about New Orleans entirely, showing that you refuse to deal with evidence to the contrary of your position. You also are ignoring the blatant fact that these charts show no evidence that gun laws keep gun violence from happening.
