White Affluent Detroit Grandma Shoots and Kills Grandson

Local news reports including a video

Police in West Bloomfield said a 74-year-old woman shot and killed her 17-year-old grandson Friday at her home.

Jonathon Hoffman, 17, had been living with his grandmother and 86-year-old grandfather for the past six months to finish high school.

According to police, Jon and his grandmother were the only ones home and got into an argument late yesterday. The grandmother shot Jon several times with a handgun, which was recovered at the home.
Perhaps Granny has been reading The Truth About Guns where they often counsel murderers. Those guys are experts in how to change a murder into a legitimate DGU, especially when the shooter is the only one left standing.

In the video, you can see the smirking lawyer acting anything but professional in the wake of this devastating tragedy.  He knows the tricks too.

What's your opinion?  Please leave a comment.

  1. With as much material as you steal from TTAG, I'd think you would treat them a little bit nicer.

    1. They need some one to speak the truth to them, besides I don't steal anything from them.

  2. re: ttag article...innocent until proven guilty...I find it offensive that you call it counseling murderers...you have the *right* to remain silent.

    1. When it comes to gun owners, no rights apply. First, Second, Fourth, Fifth Amendments are all irrelevant. The goal is to punish and disarm.

    2. No one is suggesting people who commit murder and call it a DGU should not have the right to remain silent. All I'm saying is Robert Farago and his friends go out of their way to support these people and advise them how to get away with it.

    3. So your objection is that they're practicing law without a license? I suppose that when Laci the Dog offers similar advice, that's O.K.?

    4. No, my objection is they say there's a distinction between law-abiding gun owners and (hidden) criminals, but there's not.

  3. Now what is more likely? That a grandmother in her 80s flippantly decides to shoot her grandson just for the fun of it? Or that a 17 year old violently assaults his grandmother?

Of course if it the latter grandmother was acting in self-defense.

    1. Now wait a minute, Greg Camp doesn't like it when we read too much into the story.

    2. I don't mind speculation, so long as we're clear about what we're doing. You present speculation as certainty.

    3. More facts are coming out. He was a teen with a drug problem who had been sent to an alternative school. The police had been called in before when he became violent and couldn't be controlled.

  4. Why didn't the police protect him from being assaulted?
