Friend Shoots Friend on Purpose with Permission - Shooter Charged

The Washington Post reports

Authorities say a northern New York man had his friend shoot him in the leg with a rifle because he wanted to know what it feels like to be shot.

25-year-old Shawn Mossow of neighboring Norfolk relented to his friend’s repeated requests and shot him once in the right leg with a .22-caliber rifle.

The 24-year-old man from Norfolk is expected to make a full recovery.

Mossow was charged with reckless endangerment. He’s being held in the county jail on $10,000 bail.

What do you think? Should the guy who wanted to be shot and talked his friend into doing it be charged too? Please leave a comment.

  1. A more creative solution would be to force these two knuckleheads to live with each other for some time. They richly deserve each other.

    1. Particularly in Oregon, as you demonstrate.

    2. C'mon Greg, that's not necessary.

The post asks the question should the guy who wanted to be shot be charged with anything?

    3. Why don't you tell the sacrilegious Oregonian the same thing? His opinion, as expressed here and elsewhere, is that owning a gun makes a person an idiot. If he can't stand the heat, he should stay out of the line of fire.
