10,000 new jobs a week

This explains why gun laws need to be relaxed...

I wish this was the way that he protected the British People from Nuclear Annihilation--it is equally as stupid.

  1. Gun fairies for the gun loons, and pixies for the conservatives and tea partiers.

At least in the UK the tea party serves proper tea.

I hope the gun loons appreciate your sense of humor, dear Laci- I know I do, but then I'm more of an anglophile than most people.

  2. Alas, "Whoops Apocalypse" isn't available on Netflix. It does look like a lot of fun. Richard Wilson, I see, is in it, an actor I've enjoyed in "One Foot in the Grave," among other things.

I suppose it's true what we've heard--the British will queue for anything.

  3. Greg demonstrates that the point flies over their head.

But I think Greg may be the benchmark for dealing with stupid people.

Forget that, I have had retarded clients who are more in touch with reality than Greg.

The fact that you would refer to your clients as "retarded" is a bit disheartening. I don't think they appreciate that slur Laci.

Laci doesn't use it as a slur, Jim, in connection with his clients. He uses it as a factual statement of impaired capacity, something over which they have no control.

In connection with gun loons, he does intend it as an insult, because they do not appear to use their greater mental capacity, rather they are willfully deficient in their reasoning. That pretty much deserves insult and condemnation.

  6. Laci the Dog,

Just because I choose to ignore your point does not mean that I missed it. It didn't seem worthy of a reply.

  7. DG - mentally disabled people do not like to be called retarded. It is an insulting slur to them.

It was 1. used as a technical term, not an insult to those who are disabled, and 2. it was used to Greg, not one of those individuals.

  9. And 3. it is a slur to use the vulgar slang 'retard', as is the case with many of the conservative media - Rush Limbaugh comes to mind.

I have no doubt that Laci is considerate and even sympathetic to the disability of his clients.

  10. Dog Gone,

If you're using the word "retarded" in the technical sense, you must demonstrate that my IQ is seventy or below and show that I have significant limitations in my adaptive behavior--not your opinion about discussions on-line, mind you, but in the real world. Since you can't do that, the term, retarded, cannot be used in the technical sense in reference to me.

Laci compared you to one of his intellectually disabled clients. In comparative ability to comprehend, he mad a valid observation. He doesn't need to give you an IQ test; you've demonstrated on more than one occasion your inability to think critically, too many to enumerate here.

  12. Czechoslovakia did not undergo a violent overthrow of their tyrannical government.

Pretty much every successful overthrow of tyrannical governments have been through peaceful protests, not armed insurrection. Some of those have subsequently resulted in civil war, in which the military for the most part took the sides of the protesters, and the protesters then joined with the military, acting cooperatively largely under their direction and with their equipment supplemented by our military supply of equipment to their military.

If you really believe that something like Red Dawn is practical, or desirable, you are stupid and have no reasonable or objective understanding of military forces. In that context, films like Red Dawn are a joke - a tragic joke if you mistake them for anything remotely resembling reality.
